  • XML Linking: An Overview
    Craig Murphy describes XML’s extensibility to provide relationships, or links, between XML elements and other resources: the XML Linking Recommendation from the W3C, that describes how XML documents can reference each other.

  • Under Construction: ASP.NET Web Services
    Bob Swart shows how to build, test and deploy a Delphi for .NET web service on the .NET framework, as well as how to import such web services with Delphi 7 in order to illustrate some potential compatibility issues between Delphi 7 (Win32) and Delphi for .NET.

  • Delfhead Puzzles It Out
    Will Watts rubs his magic LAMP... to put Delphi in the shade?

  • Directing DirectX Part 3: On The Move
    Erik van Bilsen completes his examination of the graphics aspects of DirectX by writing a clipping algorithm to render partial blocks of a graphic and to support smooth scrolling. As well as this, he adds a little action and interest to the demo maze game by using sprites and animations to add a player and some enemy characters.

    Rob Collins feels that code reuse is perhaps more talked about than done, so in this article he shows how code reuse can be achieved, with aggregated Delphi interfaces.

    Primoz Gabrijelcic has a fourth instalment of his occasional series dealing with data sharing and interprocess communication. This time he builds on his intelligent shared memory class implemenation described back in Issue 88 to show how to create and use shared memory pools.

  • The .NET Global Assembly Cache API
    Marcel van Brakel demonstrates how to programmatically access and manipulate the .NET Frameowrk’s  Global Assembly Cache (GAC): a machine-wide code cache where .NET assemblies are stored that are specifically intended to be shared by multiple applications.
